It
was a tight fit in the 50 passenger bus: 35 suitcases and sleeping bags, pillows and a 10-day
food supply. Somewhere in the underbelly of the bus we found
room for four guitars, two electronic keyboards, a full drum set and a
portable sound system. |

Before leaving
Celebration Ministry Center, the group selected the communities they
wanted to serve carefully. Each locale was suffering from the economy or a recent
natural disaster. They included Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Ellendale, Bowdle
and Selfridge, North Dakota and Herreid, Mitchell and Huron, South Dakota.
The students were from the Power House group at Celebration Church. They raised $6,000 through fundraisers to underwrite the cost of
the trip. Their mission was clear—they were determined to reach out with
acts of kindness with no strings attached. |

The students worked from sun-up to
sun-down. They washed cars, built fences, did yard work, painted buildings and made minor repairs
for those needing help in each community -- at absolutely no charge.

Each
day began with prayer--seeking God's direction for the day. |

Every
evening the group held a praise service in the community they’d
served that day. In Bowdle, North Dakota, the concert was in an
outdoor park. The band played, 18 members of the group made up the
praise choir and testimonies were shared. When the Gospel was
preached and an invitation given, 46 precious souls made decisions
for Christ that night, including the town’s mayor and his wife.
During the 10-day tour, 164 precious people dedicated or rededicated
their lives to Jesus. Everywhere the group went, folks knew of
Lowell Lundstrom and would share stories of how their family was
touched by his ministry. We praise God and thank Him for this
wonderful outreach. To God be all the glory. |
